We cannot understand everything about an object or a human being all at once. To understand one aspect of an object’s nature you have to let another aspect go.
The taste, outter form, and color of the peppers are lost, but we get to look at their inner forms and texture. It corresponds to the artist´s experience of living abroad. She gained new perspectives on her homeland, while inevitably lost some connections to her culture.
